There’s nothing like getting a little exercise and help out an amazing cause on a beautiful day!
Come walk with Tom Morgan this Saturday at the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville to raise awareness for SARA (Sexual Assault Resource Center) starting at 11:30!
The concept of ‘walking a mile in someone else’s shoes’ will apply here, as you’re encouraged to challenge yourself in your shoe selection for the event, including sequins, glitter, and other decorations. Some participants are choosing to write the name of a survivor or other loved one on their shoes. High heels are not required, but if you want to wear them, you can! Any shoes are acceptable, and all participants are welcome. At the event, representatives will have materials to help you decorate our shoes, or you can decorate before hand.
We will meet at the Omni Hotel side of the Downtown Mall. Register HERE first to Walk A Mile for SARA. As a participant, you will receive a t-shirt, beer ticket (21 and older only) and a raffle ticket to use at the after party at South Street Brewery from 2-4PM, along with 20% off any food purchases that day.
SARA is a local non-profit group that serves to anyone who has personally experienced, or cares for someone who has experienced any kind of sexual violence, including rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual molestation, incest, sex trafficking, stalking, sexual harassment or unwanted touching.
