The Cure for the Common Cold Could be in the Form of a Dessert

You’re welcome!

Mary Poppins once sang ‘just a spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down’, but if what if the sugar WAS the medicine? More specifically, chocolate!

According to Local 10, chocolate could very well be greater than cough syrup.

For those of you battling the constant cough, British doctors recommend indulging in some milk chocolate rather than cough syrup.

Researchers found that theobromine, an alkaloid in cocoa, is better at suppressing your urge to cough because it’s sticky, and forms a coating on your throat’s nerve endings.

Not that you really needed an excuse to eat more chocolate, but now you can label it ‘medicine’ in more ways than one!
