THE TROY GENTRY FOUNDATION LAUNCHING WITH JANUARY BENEFIT CONCERT

In honor of the late TROY GENTRY, of MONTGOMERY GENTRY, who passed away last Fall, THE TROY GENTRY FOUNDATION has been created by GENTRY’s wife, ANGIE. The non-profit will provide financial support to organizations that aid in cancer research, assist military families in need, and help provide music education to future generations. To celebrate the launch, a benefit concert will take place on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 9th, 2019 at the GRAND OLE OPRY in NASHVILLE. Hosted by BLAKE SHELTON, the show will feature performances by JIMMIE ALLEN, HALFWAY TO HAZARD, CHRIS JANSON, DUSTIN LYNCH, EDDIE MONTGOMERY of MONTGOMERY GENTRY, JUSTIN MOORE, CRAIG MORGAN, JON PARDI, RASCAL FLATTS, JEFFREY STEELE, NEIL THRASHER, and more yet-to-be-announced acts. Concert proceeds will support THE TROY GENTRY FOUNDATION, OPRY TRUST FUND, T.J. MARTELL FOUNDATION, MAKE-A-WISH, and THE JOURNEY HOME PROJECT, as well as provide scholarships and instruments for music education in KENTUCKY schools.

“Together, with some of TROY’s friends, I started THE TROY GENTRY FOUNDATION,” explained ANGIE GENTRY. “We were sharing memories together one evening and decided we wanted to do something to keep the spirit of TROY’s generous heart alive and honor his memory. TROY was taken too soon, but we felt his dreams and dedication to helping others needed to continue. He was very passionate about our military and their families, about those in need to provide for their children, cancer research, and the continuation of music education.”
