Do you remember the slang word ‘Phat’?
As in, that movie was so phat, those jeans are phat, you’re so phat, etc.
That slang word, believe it or not, was big in 1998. I wasn’t born in 1998, but I certainly remember what I was doing (chasing girls at Hidden Valley Junior High and playing Nintendo 64)
So I looked up what slang word was popular in 1983 (the year I was born) and I got Beat Box. It wasn’t necessarily used for making sounds with your mouth to form a rap song, it was used to describe those electronic drum machines that were enthusiastically embraced in the musical landscape of the ’80s.
