The Dogwood Firework show at McIntire Park has been delayed tonight.
According to T.D Laymen, chairmen of the Dogwood festival:
| Due to predicted high winds, the Dogwood Festival Fireworks display over McIntire Park scheduled for tonight has been postponed until tomorrow night, Saturday April 8. Dogwood Festival President Jenne Garrett stated “the temperature will be a little cooler tomorrow but the wind conditions will be better”.
Subsequently, Movie Night in the Park, originally scheduled for Saturday April 8 has been rescheduled to Friday, April 14. Garrett further described this postponement as a necessity, “moving the fireworks to Saturday would have had them going off during the movie” “the weather is also predicted to be cooler than we would like for the movie screening”. |
